Sansai Restaurant - Toire wa doko desu ka?
The list of places I will no longer eat at grew to 4 deep this past week. For those of you who may be curious. Toire wa doko desu ka? = Where is the toilet?
I tried to write Sansai Restaurant about the poor food I ate while I was there last week but the email got returned because the email address on the Sansai site was not valid. So, I contacted their corporate offices last week (via email) and I still haven't received a reply. Therefore I thought it might be necessary to post the e-mail here, just in case. This email was sent to Kristian Hudson which supposedly is the district manager of all St. Louis stores. This is the email that was returned. Without further ado.
Hello Kristian Hutson,
I am writing to let you know that I had a not-so-pleasant experience on Tuesday, March 20th following a visit to your Webster branch. Very soon after leaving your store I began to experience severe cramps and bloating in my stomach which was followed by cold sweats and shaking. I attempted to sleep it off for a few hours and when I woke up the symptoms were worse except now they were joined by some pretty awful back pains and overall body aching and soreness, along with some dry heaving.
I did spare you the graphic detail of the past few days of liquid bowel movements. But since I just mentioned it I guess I didn’t really spare you; I apologize for that. I am feeling better today and should finally begin eating normal food other than 7-up & pretzels.
Anyway, it is very rare for me to have this sort of experience so I was very alarmed. I wish I had been in a better position to contact you sooner. It is quite easy for me to see the direct correlation between eating at your restaurant and the symptoms that followed. Having worked in the restaurant business for so long I understand that things like this can happen. I hold no ill will toward your restaurant although I’m afraid I will never be able to eat at Sansai again. It’s a shame because I was a HUGE fan of your Salmon & Rice with the Oriental Salad washed down with an ice cold Sapporo. Even now the thought makes my stomach uneasy.
Finally, should you have other reports of a similar nature around the same time, you can be aware that the common denominator is most likey some type of a health or sanitary concern at your Webster branch. I apologize for not contacting you sooner.
Thanks for your time,
Joseph Holst
