It's a video tutorial which is even better. It was really easy to follow and I wasn't messing with any config files. The only thing I did was followed Derrick Griggs advice and created a virtualhost so I could develop sites where I'm used to developing them, in my Sites directory.

Edit: I was getting errors like "Can't create symlink" both in phpmyadmin and Navicat when trying to administer my new mysql database. I made sure all of my permissions were set properly. A big thanks to Andrey's for his post. I'm not entirely sure what or why, but it worked. . Here is the link in case anyone runs into this problem.
