New (More) Gear!
More gear! I'm trying to build up a nice studio. In order to do that I had to snag some lighting and a few other goodies. I'm way over budget so now it's time to make some funds.
StarFlash 300 Gemini
I did a ton of searching around and felt really good with getting this kit. I've used it a few times already and really like the results. I have to say that it's way more power than I'm used to. My old JTL strobe is 160 watts, these total 600. You can also change the intensity of the modeling light which is cool. It's all very foreign to me and I have SO MUCH to learn.

This thing is a life saver. It has many functions but it's main purpose is to get the flash higher so you don't get harsh shadows on the face and silhouettes against the wall. It also allows you to turn your camera and shoot a portrait (vertically) and the flash still remains at the top whereas if your flash is mounted on the top of your camera, when you turn the camera vertically the flash will point to the side.
Westcott 42" 4-In-1 Sunlight Refelector Kit
No explanation needed for this piece of crucial equimpent. I already had a reflector but it was much smaller than this. Some day soon I'll need to get an even larger reflector. This was used in the most recent photo I took of Sarah here.
